San Francisco

It made me happy to hear (comments) from you old-timey blog friends! Want to say “hi!” back.

I’ve got some photos of our morning hike along the California Coastal Trail in SF. I still think about it every now and then, and miss it.

We Uber-ed to the Cliff House, the starting point. (We Uber-ed everywhere in SF. It’s the second best way to get around as a tourist. The best way, of course, is renting a car and driving yourself, which we did on our last half-a-day in SF. Surprisingly street parking wasn’t as bad as we thought it would be.) We missed out on the Camera Obscura as we were too early, it looked so cute though!

A friend told us about Muir Woods which looks like a dream. Wish we had more time. I defo feel like there is so much more to see and do. So I’m gonna find a way back soon. While we were there, I kept stumbling upon articles that mentioned the best things about Oakland too. Allison and Diane, *waves*!

#thebellywedding

This might be the first time, I think, I’m mentioning it on the blog that Ben & I are getting married this Saturday! I’ve been trying to type something that makes sense for about half an hour, but everything comes out sounding contrived. I eek at the slightest sign of romance (like to think it’s hereditary) so it’s hard to write sweet… things… But I will say that I can’t wait to find out if being married feels different.

We have no recent decent photos of ourselves together, it’s always a case of he looks nice in one while I look nice in another and retaking more makes it worse. The second photo is one of my favourites of him, let’s just say there’s a lot of irony going on it in. We’ll see if our wedding photos turn out alright and I’ll definitely share some here! Married peeps, feel free to chime in about anything wedding-related or marriage-related. Hearing stories helps calms my nerves. x

You look like a screensaver

On our last day in Istanbul, we took a taxi out to Rumeli Hisari. It is right next to the Bosphorus and because we were greeted with amazing sunshine and perfect 18-degree weather, we had a really good time there.

We made our way there to eat at Kale Cafe (photo on the left). Made popular and known to me from an episode of No Reservations! We ordered the usual Turkish breakfast spread and it didn’t disappoint!

After breakfast, we took a slow walk toward the Ottoman Fortress of Rumeli Hisari.

The view was beautiful although some points were scary to hike up to. Looking at these photos now, I’m getting excited about our trip to Beijing in April. I booked us a hike to the Great Wall, like an 8km hike. Ha! I’m just thinking about getting nice pictures and not thinking so much about the distance…
