Day one once more

.

.

Hey! I’m writing from my new desk in our new home. I am so tired from packing and unpacking. The house is still in half a mess. Ben’s making me feel terrible about owning too many things. And it’s not even too many shoes and bags situation, it’s too many tools and art materials and empty glass jars AND books.

The past week has been so tough, the both of us swear we never want to move again. And we hired movers… The house still smells of fresh paint. The cats are settling in, Fatboy has found his vantage point in the kitchen, Indie is comfortable sleeping right smack in the middle of the couch. I have to add that Fatboy yelled the entire car ride from Jurong West to Sengkang. It really felt like we wouldn’t make it. But we did. Happy face. I can’t believe it. I’m going in sleep in a new bed, wake up tomorrow morning with a slight scare from unfamiliar walls – does that happen to you? It always happens to me!

There’s so much left to do and it’s a brand new kind of excitement, to turn our house into a home.

Home is the best place to be

Oh hey hey! I wanted to quickly share this collection curated by me on Naiise. They were so nice to invite me to do this and it couldn’t be at a better time as I am right in the thick of renovating our first home. They even included a short interview, and it’s been such a long time since I did one, I almost forgot how to type coherently.

Naiise were nice to share a discount code as well. Use GREENLAUNDRY, get 10% off with no minimum spend, valid till the end of October 2014.

#thebellywedding

This might be the first time, I think, I’m mentioning it on the blog that Ben & I are getting married this Saturday! I’ve been trying to type something that makes sense for about half an hour, but everything comes out sounding contrived. I eek at the slightest sign of romance (like to think it’s hereditary) so it’s hard to write sweet… things… But I will say that I can’t wait to find out if being married feels different.

.

.

We have no recent decent photos of ourselves together, it’s always a case of he looks nice in one while I look nice in another and retaking more makes it worse. The second photo is one of my favourites of him, let’s just say there’s a lot of irony going on it in. We’ll see if our wedding photos turn out alright and I’ll definitely share some here! Married peeps, feel free to chime in about anything wedding-related or marriage-related. Hearing stories helps calms my nerves. x

Shop News

Hey guys! I’ve got three new hanging mobiles in my shop. I’m excited for these new babies! They’ve been rough sketches in my notebook for months and now they are real and ready to find new homes. To take the hanging mobiles up a notch just a little, I used sterling silver metal chains instead of my usual hemp rope. The chains are oxidized (by me) so none of that too-shiny silver look. Do check them out on Etsy! ♥︎

HK02

Sharing some scenes from all over Hong Kong. I’m saving some of my HK recommendations for another post. Once I get more time on my hands!

I’ve been busy working on a new design for my hanging mobiles so all my brain juice goes there. That and juggling wedding preparation so June’s pretty hectic. Had good company on the TV with Roland Garros season and next week, World Cup begins!
