Day one once more

.

.

Hey! I’m writing from my new desk in our new home. I am so tired from packing and unpacking. The house is still in half a mess. Ben’s making me feel terrible about owning too many things. And it’s not even too many shoes and bags situation, it’s too many tools and art materials and empty glass jars AND books.

The past week has been so tough, the both of us swear we never want to move again. And we hired movers… The house still smells of fresh paint. The cats are settling in, Fatboy has found his vantage point in the kitchen, Indie is comfortable sleeping right smack in the middle of the couch. I have to add that Fatboy yelled the entire car ride from Jurong West to Sengkang. It really felt like we wouldn’t make it. But we did. Happy face. I can’t believe it. I’m going in sleep in a new bed, wake up tomorrow morning with a slight scare from unfamiliar walls – does that happen to you? It always happens to me!

There’s so much left to do and it’s a brand new kind of excitement, to turn our house into a home.

Peek into our home

Here are some photos of the nicer, less cluttered parts of our home. The house came fully furnished so I cannot take any credit for how the house looks actually. The only credit I can take is finding this gem among a sea of dirty ‘dying’ houses! We are renters so given our budget, coming across a house like this is very rare. Less talk, more photos, now come on in!

Mirror that’s behind our couch

The tv console, my boyfriend’s electric guitar

Indie with her new bling collar

Fatboy prefers sleeping on chairs meant for humans

Our home office

So I still have one unopened box containing frames and prints that haven’t found its way onto the walls yet. Ben and I are having decorating differences at the moment, haha. I’m a colour and clutter queen whereas he’s a clean, monochromatic colours sort of guy. I’ll wait a while more, when the ‘new home’ novelty feeling fades off… he won’t be arsed to fight me anymore!

New home

Vintage hangers that came right on time in the mail!

The cats are still getting accustomed to the new sounds around the house. They have been hiding under the bed and couches, poor kitties.

What we fell in love with, the high ceiling. This is what it looks like lying on the living room floor.

Cutesy food, I don’t know what they’re called in english or even in mandarin for that matter! Gosh, ahh but they’re specially made for Mid Autumn Festival.

That’s all from me for the time being, four lousy photos! I know! We are gonna get on our bikes and cycle around our new neighbourhood right after I finish typing this. I do want to thank my dearest Farahanah for wasting a day of her leave to come unpack boxes with us! The extra pair of hands was so needed!

Have a weekend folks, it’s October already, so crazy!

Who's here?

Hi guys (did Michael Kors come to mind? if not, ignore me), it’s been quiet here i know and it’s gonna be for the next week or so. I’ve moved to a new place and my, there is a million things to find, fix and fuss over! This being my first time living on my own, i have to admit i was/am unprepared. I’m trying to take it easy, go with the flow mojo, and it’s not working out so well. It feels like i am in therapy with myself. The on-going list of things to buy helps but doesn’t help at the same time. Tell me, you people with beautiful homes, what is your secret?

For now, this is me with the teeny mirror, the only mirror we have at the moment in the room. It’s so tiny my head doesn’t fit into the circumference. I am anticipating the day i wake up to a home.
