I woke up to rain on my laundry again, i never learn do i. So once the rain subsided in the evening, i took a walk around my neighbourhood. I ended up in Haji Lane and i rarely go into shops but today i decided to. Visited Soon Lee (!!!) and got charmed by the precious bits and bobs of treasure in the shop. Saw dresses i want at Pluck and a gorgeous gorgeous antique frame at Salad. But the prices were not so friendly so i had to walk on.
Mmm, sleep deprivation is hitting me. I sound like a typewriter.
Blouse from The Oppt Shop, vest from House of Japan, shorts are vintage from ebay
1. I need a haircut.
2. This is the wall you’re gonna be seeing alot more.
3. My nose looks like it’s connected to some spectacles you’d find in a party shop
4. I left home with the laundry hanging outside, i came home to find my laundry hanging outside dripping wet. I do not like rain.
5. The dress i’m wearing is secondhand, navy tights from a spree, vintage tote from etsy and shoes from Bianca.
6. Speaking of Bianca, i’m many days late on this news, their new collection of shoes are coming out at the end of October. If you want in on the launch party, you can! The details here.
Yesterday was one of the highlights of August for me. After many many years of wishful thinking, Death Cab for Cutie finally came to town to do a show! The show happened a little too quickly for me or perhaps it took me too long to fully realise they were in fact playing on the stage. My boyfriend managed to film them playing “I Will Follow You Into The Dark”, i wished i could share their last song for the night “Transatlanticsm” but my trusty camera ran out of memory, queh.
This is what i wore – vintage dress from ebay (sleeves altered shorter) and my bag was thrifted in nyc.
I’m not sure if you can make out two buttons at the empire waistline, it’s kinda cute having the buttons attached to the belt instead of simply sewn on.
Alright here is the video i mentioned earlier, be warned that there’s some screaming a few seconds into the video, so go soft on the volume first.
Believe me i’m cackling with laughter as i’m writing this! I always lament to my boyfriend about the lack of suitable backgrounds to take my w_r outfits and so tonight, me and my bright idea presents this:
Wearing this dress makes me feel like both a girl scout mainly because it’s green and a waitress working at a diner, which explains my new ‘friends’. I fully suspect this is indeed a waitress’s uniform after looking through several images, especially since the collar and sleeve detail resemblance is there plus the buttons running all the way down.
Dress: Vintage from Kensington Market, Toronto
Clutch: Secondhand
Black flats: Tangs
The weather has been unfriendly lately and i know it’s only going to get worse so i’m not gonna say more. The 11th Hour is available for rent on iTunes now and i’m gonna make time to watch it. I do little on my end to save the environment and when i think hard about it, i don’t like the way it makes me feel.
Well watch it if you can, there’s something about documentaries that draw me in. I managed to see the Helvetica film over the weekend and although i don’t really glorify the font, hearing aficionados speak about it is wondrous. Wow i really managed to sidetrack, all i meant to do was post today’s outfit and also share a video i’ve been watching over and over.
Everything is remixed ‘cept for the clutch which came as a gift, it’s from H&M. I really dislike taking photos at the stairwell but i had to compromise because it had better lighting, sorry!
And enough of my talk, play this video, close your eyes and sway
