Sunday Out

Very early on Sunday morning (by my standards), I met Sarah to drop by Soon Lee to check out a new local label, Chalk. The incredible designer behind Chalk is Priscilla and I’ve known her since kindergarten through primary school! Her debut collection features girly dresses and some pieces ideal for office wear. Every piece is saccharine sweet and fun fun fun.

I really wanted the white dress in this photo but Sarah and I decided I would look like a tranny in it. I wish I was more of a lay-dy!

I wish I had a fancier jacket

I went to see This Is It in the theatres last night and this was what I wore. You’d need a little imagination because of the poor lighting, I’ll guide you!
I have a vintage lace blouse from ebay on, on top I threw on a cardigan from Muji. My high-waisted shorts are from Bettina Liano, they look somewhat sailor-esque, with two buttons on the waistband. My jazz flats are from F-Troupe and the giant bow headband is from Modcloth.

No hair new hair

Got my hair chopped off last week. It’s real short underneath, sorta like an undercut but not exactly. I don’t know how what hair terms to use to describe it. And there’s an overlapping layer of hair to cover it all?! Anyway it just means lesser time in the shower and getting (hair) ready, hurray!

Shirt is vintage from a local shop which name i cannot recall, black shorts from Uniqlo and flats from Cotton On.

Heart me tights

These tights, i have been coveting since i saw them on Rhiannon many many moons back. So when i received them from Modcloth i was over the moon! But then of course, i had to rip them that night. Slightly. Still wearable. Maybe for two more wears, we’ll see.

This was what i wore to the NDP Preview on Saturday. Running late + self-timer resulted in out of focus photo #1. But you get the idea! And photo #2, my new Jeffrey Campbell sandals which i love love <3.

All over the quays

I spent some time with my brother dearest and lil sister yesterday; we did lunch at Brewerkz followed by the Singapore River Cruise. My sister loves the boat ride so we pretended to be tourists and hopped on. I was snapping away with film so expect to see touristy singapore photos soon! Come evening, i was going to see The Unguarded Moment by Steve McCurry at ACM - it’s part of the Month of Photography Asia. So i put on something a little nice and drew my lips red.

The man himself, Steve McCurry, on the right. What a life he has lived, this man.

I’m not gonna say much about his photos, i’ve stopped trying to give my point of view on art because i know what i feel when i see each of them but haven’t got enough eloquence to put it into words. The colours on every of his photos is stunning though, stunning. Apparently his prints are printed using an Epson so i’m leaning towards an Epson now, when the time comes to buy a large-scale printer.

Tight fit

So i said to hell with the weather, i’m gonna wear tights out tonight. I miss them! Even more so after seeing them girls in bright tights.

Dress is from Diane’s shop, tights from UO, boots via ebay and canvas tote from a friend.

Got fed up with posing for photos cos my face won’t cooperate so here’s me doing what i do best. Being a doofus, kicking nothing, breaking into a sweat, all with the intention of showing off my tights! But uhh, no tights till it gets cooler. No ball of hair on head too, that’s next to go.

Howdy Haz

Ahhh, you have no idea how uncomfortable it was to be posing for outfit shots again. I freeze and become a robot and retarded! Well this is the first night in many weeks (no kidding) that i’ve put on nicer clothes to step out. So it deserves a photo. I bought this dress from Diane with every intention to combat the humid weather in it and since florals to me, is being happy and cheery, that’s my disguise. Now i’m actually a really grumpy person once outside my home.

I couldn’t decide which photo to pick so two-in-one it is. Also i’m getting used to wearing something in my hair now but let’s see how long that’ll last. It makes me feel vain, well a little.

The river & two strays

Last Sunday i spied this jetty while on the bus, making our way to see Oasis. Today we made a little trip there, i had to, i’ve been singing The Kook’s Seaside for the entire day. While it isn’t quite a seaside, it was nice enough. I like the water a lot, i think most people do. We might contemplate moving to East Coast maybe!

Ole ole ole Coldplay

I’m awfully tired but i know this has to go up before i sleep away the happy buzz the show left me. Three years back, i went to see them and they ranked #1 as favourite concert ever since then. Tonight, they topped themselves! I could do a whole essay on what they did right but in short, they looked like they were having such a good time playing, being this band and that’s all they needed to do.

I felt i went to this huge party and had so much fun. All these little things they did, Chris Martin was funny, videography was hands-down impressive, at one point so many people were standing on their chairs dancing, Chris Martin made us do the mexican wave with our cellphones… I forget some now but i just didn’t want the party to end. And if you care enough to know what i wore, this is what. Because after tonight, my prior excitement to my Life in Technicolour attempt at dressing up just amounted to nothing!

Haa i know, the masks, just had to do them. That’s my boyfriend, Ben, who kindly accompanied me in this shot!

Walking on eggplants

My boyfriend & i were at Ikea earlier on and this time, he tried to actively participate in choosing new bedsheets - which made me very pleased! Yeah but my whole bedsheet-world came crashing down when the one he picks ran out of stock. And when i point out an alternative choice, he says something like “buttt it’s purple and green..”. “Aha! Lookey at me, i’m wearing purple and green!?!”. Nice one, H!
