Two of my most creative friends made this birthday edm or invite if you will, for tonight’s post-birthday dinner. I do love my burgers so burgers we had!
Polaroid taken at dinner – Sabrina (center), a writer and Caili’s an art director
The photos were taken by Caili, with her out-of-this-world Ricoh camera which explains why Sabrina and i are posing in most of them. Believe me, she took so many that we got tired of posing and cracked up a whole lot. Sorry the outfit pictures aren’t that sharp, it isn’t much, a dress that was altered too short thus the leggings, oxfords and a vintage purse.
Yes, that was what i did yesterday for the first time, being 23. I kinda guessed the plans my boyfriend had up his sleeves days before but i enjoyed every bit of it nonetheless! He whisked us both off to a suite for a day, it had a jacuzzi in the back so we pretty much soaked in chlorine half the time, lounging around in bathrobes (!!!) and being around more greenery than usual and oh, walking beside peacocks.
I’m gonna leave you with some pictures but hopefully the ones i shot in film will come out well and i will post more again. Wish i could blabber more but there’s some work to be done.
I snapped this at the golf course and it’s so spooky i kinda like it so i don’t care that it looks out of place with the other photos!
My outfit – vintage dress from ebay and shoes from urban outfitters.
It is quite clear that i’m hardly an accessory person, i did my time when i was younger and fell out of it soon after. But i enjoy them on people, it sure as hell takes a certain kind of effort to rake them in, mix & match and take them off. You gotta admit that one, taking them off is quite a hassle. Well despite me not being big on add-ons, i’ve been scouring etsy for head gears lately. The recent launch of ban.do is all over the internet and i suspect that ignited this crave for some feathers in my hair! Plus a downer of having short hair is not being able to do much with it y’know, my options are 1) blowdry 2) don’t blowdry.
I’m not sure how the idea of feathers came about – the first i saw was the piece from Bona Drag, made known by way of Dreamecho. Kennedyholmes also does a different take with hers. I found a couple of etsy sellers with similar versions and some others a little less flamboyant.
Another popular seller is charmschooldesign (not pictured) and her shop is by far my favourite to browse through. I’m not sure how i can incorporate these into my dressing but it’s something i’d like to try.
I’ve been absent i know and i’m afraid this week’s photos might not be up to par. My grandmother is in the hospital and all i’ve done this week is make trips there and back. So my week hasn’t been flourished with much apart from precious time spent with my grandfolks. I promise better content next week!
Yesterday was one of the highlights of August for me. After many many years of wishful thinking, Death Cab for Cutie finally came to town to do a show! The show happened a little too quickly for me or perhaps it took me too long to fully realise they were in fact playing on the stage. My boyfriend managed to film them playing “I Will Follow You Into The Dark”, i wished i could share their last song for the night “Transatlanticsm” but my trusty camera ran out of memory, queh.
This is what i wore – vintage dress from ebay (sleeves altered shorter) and my bag was thrifted in nyc.
I’m not sure if you can make out two buttons at the empire waistline, it’s kinda cute having the buttons attached to the belt instead of simply sewn on.
Alright here is the video i mentioned earlier, be warned that there’s some screaming a few seconds into the video, so go soft on the volume first.
