Midnight elves

Last night my bf & i made this scratchie for our cats from scratch. We were really enthusiastic at the start but an hour later, we had many other adjectives rolling off our tongues! It’s crazy work and it’s really because we’re too cheap to pay $18 for one from the pet shop. The shop hasn’t been stocking the usual Japanese brand we buy and uhh what $18 for my cats to destroy cardboard every two weeks, not happening!

But you know, after giving it a go myself, $18 is justifiable in my head now. Ours is a lot cuter than the store-bought ones tho, don’t you think? It looks like a cross section of a tree trunk. So that’s Indie testing out our hard work – she says “yes you folks passed”. The story’s actually funny: The cats had nothing to scratch on because we didn’t buy the $18 scratchie. Fatboy’s adaptable so he learnt to scratch on the pillars of this. Indie, on the other hand, not so – so she took to tearing my bf’s leather chair apart. He got a new chair from Ikea last night, so we got cardboard. And we build the scratchie using the cardboard. It came full circle!

Story of the COON cheese

this is my friend mel. we had a bbq at her home last saturday. she said to make some cheese+bread.

this is glen, mel’s younger brother. he knows of this awesome cheese called coon cheese. which is REALLY super yummy. we bought that to make our cheese+bread for the bbq.

this is the coon cheese! and my friend farah telling you it’s so so good. it really is. altho it says it’s 100% cheddar, it tastes nothing like that kraft cheddar nonsense.

last night i decided to buy my own block of coon cheese, cos i’ve spent many days thinking about it. i had it for breakfast this morning and it’s the best thing ever.

At my grandfolks'

Here’s another batch of photos from the same roll as the photos in the post below. I used Fuji Velvia 50 and yes, they are cross-processed! Sorry i didn’t comment back earlier, i’ve been the sickest puppy, still am.

Funnily enough, Young recently posted photos of her maternal grandmother and of her home. I was lying in bed reading my rss feeds going oh! oh!.

My maternal grandmother and you can see my grandfather in the background in the kitchen. He’s lost quite a bit of weight which made me a little sad.

Her bathroom

Her room and shirts hanging

The window in my grandfather’s room

Can i say i thought i smelled like laksa after a shower earlier on? My fever’s warped my senses. What’s worse i have to make my way to the post office to drop off a package and i’m gonna time myself just for kicks.

Afternoon Off

Some shots taken one very very warm afternoon, wandering around after lunch, after stopping at the post office, after stationery-shopping.

The last photo was nearing the end of the roll which is probably why the shot turned out halfwayhalf. Worked for this shot tho, so i’m pretty pleased! We ended the afternoon off with a pint each so we’d stop grumbling about the heat.
