Lots of faces and names coming up! These are the only film photos I have left to share for awhile. It’s been storming here for close to a week now and the sky’s as dark as in Independence Day.

Nabs, Sherms, Valencia, Yiqin

Sarah and yikes, but I forgot the others’ names! sorry ladies!

Picnic #3 was a surprise birthday thing for my dear friend, Caili. We basically set up five mats and sat there till she wandered along and noticed us. Prior plans of getting her in the park had to be made too of course.

Caili! and Celeste (the party planner!)

Yajun, Caili, Celeste and Popo

Ben, Michael and Yajun & his towel, heehee
Off to lunch with crazy thunder over our heads!

Watched The Baxter last night, I think it was Diana who wrote about it many moons ago and I noted it down for some reason. It’s quite a funny film and the way it’s shot and the dialogue made the film feel old although it was released in 2005. I captured some stills of Michelle Williams’s character’s wardrobe choices which I loved and evoked dreamy thoughts of Madeleine, Lyell and wearing adult versions of little girl’s clothing.

I’m lovin’ her hair too – the colour and her cute slightly puffy side-swept bangs. Ahhh, gimme gimme.
Goody start to your work week, school week!

Yesterday I;

started the day real early with some dim sum at Red Star

went down town after many weeks -yikes- and came home with this pencil eraser from muji and new bras! not exactly sexy to share but it’s been a tough hunt so I’m super pleased.

ended the day with a full load of processed food – instant noods, canned bamboo shoots (I LOVE!), fried tofu, some honeydew and iced green tea

a mad thunderstorm woke me at about 2AM, couldn’t sleep after and so I had eggs on toast with warm milo

completed a different style of the twiggy things I’ve been making, sending this out to someone
And I also finished watching BBC’s Long Way Down, a documentary of Ewan McGregor and his buddy, Charley Boorman’s motorcycle adventure from Scotland to Cape Town, Africa. The first one’s Long Way Round (London to New York City) and I have to get my hands on that one next. It was beautiful to watch, the sights in Africa especially Ethiopia, Kenya and Malawi are nothing I imagined the continent to be. I wonder if I’ll ever make it out there some day. I highly recommend watching it if you like a sense of adventure and feeling emo!
What’s everyone been up to? I’ve been catching up on sleep and feeling like I have small small eyes every waking hour.

This is a pretty old photo, taken about two months ago. We haven’t gone kite-flying in a while now but the park, the park has converted Ben & I to become serial park people, haha! Ask me one year ago and I’ll probably not join you at the park. Anyway, I had this random thought earlier – what if someone got killed at the park? Would I dare go there again? Can’t say why it came to mind, could be all the Criminal Minds I’ve been watching. And you don’t even have to answer it… I’m just putting it out there.

In March, I went to a total of three picnics but got mad drunk at one. So is the one where we surprised a birthday girl, drank too much and ended up rolling on the grass by the lake. But we timed it well, the sun was setting pretty quickly.

Nabs, Squid and Sherms

Diana

The birthday girl, Shal

Twigsisters – Sherms and Christine

I can’t remember who took the last two photos, it’s weird there are light leaks cos this camera never lets that happen. Strange, cues The X-Files theme song.
Has anyone ordered and gotten hold of the iPad yet, how’s it integrating into your life? My boyfriend’s anticipating his like crazy and telling me all these things about it so I wanna know if you have it! Then I can have stories too, it’s been a one-way conversation that ends with eyeballs rolling thus far heh.
