15 minutes to save the world

Had lunch at 15 minutes today, this nice cafe at Lasalle. I really liked the place, it’s big and cold (it’s been blazing hot here, BLAZING!!). The food didn’t disappoint, most places tend to be a let down, new establishments especially.

They serve sandwiches, pasta, pizzas, salads, they have one burger and fish&chips as well. Coffee’s cheap.

The wings were good for $3

Ben had fish & chips, there was a tinge of ginger in the fish – a little twist, good kind of twist

Spicy shrimp aglio olio for me!

Something was done right about this eatery, maybe it’s the spaciousness combined with food that pleases me. (I’m having this ‘moment’ right now whereby i like being in a huge space.) I also keep harping on how much bad food is out there so i get happy when i dine somewhere decent. Well i’m writing with the energy level of a granny so maybe my happiness isn’t coming through as much as i’d like but really, i like this place and i’m going back!!!!!

Proper food

Grilled Shrimp and Lemon Kebabs

There was two weeks of uninspired time in the kitchen for me but i think i shoo-ed it away now. I have trouble functioning well if i don’t find joy in doing it. I can’t just do it. There are some of you who are like that too right, where are you?

This recipe’s from realsimple and i switched up the sides a little – baked potato + broccoli instead.

Story of the COON cheese

this is my friend mel. we had a bbq at her home last saturday. she said to make some cheese+bread.

this is glen, mel’s younger brother. he knows of this awesome cheese called coon cheese. which is REALLY super yummy. we bought that to make our cheese+bread for the bbq.

this is the coon cheese! and my friend farah telling you it’s so so good. it really is. altho it says it’s 100% cheddar, it tastes nothing like that kraft cheddar nonsense.

last night i decided to buy my own block of coon cheese, cos i’ve spent many days thinking about it. i had it for breakfast this morning and it’s the best thing ever.

Heavyweight

“Who’s the heaviest man in the world?” The wonton (one tonne) man!

Selina made dumplings and tweeted about it a few days back. I got tempted, she passed me her mom’s recipe and i made some last night. I steamed the dumplings and had them with plain noodles for dinner.

And fried the remaining few for today’s mid-day snack. Well conclusion: we like all things fried better.
