For this week’s photos, i decided to take it up a notch and shoot with my Smena 8M. I am quite hopeless around manual cameras so i was pretty high-strung when i sent the roll for developing, there was a high chance i would have no material for this week. So the easiest way to know if my photos turned out is when the cashier tells me how much to pay. There’s been so many occasions they return me the balance of my deposit, heartbreaking moments. Well not today, i paid so much i was entitled to use my discount card! There are slightly more photos this week so i hope you don’t get bored scrolling.

you made magic with that camera! i LOVE all these photos!
that’s an A for your pictures smells! xoxo
A Smena has been on my wishlist for the longest time and this entry just solidifies my love for it. Fab pictures, lady!
those photos are truly lovely! its scary using a manual Camera, i hate worrying how they are going to come out!
x
oh love! really great shots. i just love the old school look of them all. go smena!!
and that peacock is so pretty!
i know nuts about photography - but melly these are awesome! they all look hopelessly romantic and pretty (:
Ohhhh, I love film so much. When I see photos and that element of magic (it’s truly magical) in them, I wonder how I can go back to digital. But then when they charge me $10 to develop 35mm and put it on a CD, I remember again. But for that brief moment, I live in a film world.
Woman! Where exactly is this resort?! I wanna go too… looks damn romantic lor! *glee*
And that albino peacock is really pretty… Makes me think of white chicken rice… I know right… Sick…LOL. Just kidding… o__O!!
Beautiful pictures; I love them all! The compositions are lovely and the lighting/tone is so pretty. You should work with the 35m more!
amy: Oh coming from you! *bows thank you.
kris: hello Kristine :]
Iconoclastic: It is a wonderful camera i must say, after this, i didn’t want to play with my lomos anymore.
carrie: i know right, it’s a feeling i dislike too.
beth: yes the peacock was stunning, like it commanded attention, freaky.
jo: haha hopelessly romantic, i like
miss a.: SENTIMENTS EXACTLY, and you use a holga right, the film cost so much!
Sarah: Woman, you completely killed me, white chicken rice?!!?!!?! hahahaha, i want to be your friend la. This place is Amara Sanctuary at Sentosa.
The Clothes Horse: I will try to, when budget and time allows :]
Woo WOo… Amara sanctuary…. Sounds expensive. Must do extensive research now! =D Thanx!
Love your photos. You have a really great knack for them, even the blurry ones look like they’ve been done intentionally!
wow, you really got me interested in the smena 8m with your lovely shots! did you use flash with the night shots, or just point-and-shoot?
zee: Hey, yes the smena’s very charming - using it as well as the photos it produces. I’m not sure if by right it should come with a flash, but mine didn’t. There’s the slot to accomodate one of cos, slides right on top. So for the night shots, i used a longer shutter speed :]
hi melly, yeah they don’t come with flashes. i’m thinking of getting one cos i want something (other than my vivitar) that can take nice photos at night too
thanks for your help!
zee: Funny cos the next camera i would get is definitely the vivitar! When i know i will make time for it that is. Do you have your photos up somewhere that i can view?
