It’s a big black sky over my town

Hello, the blog has a new look! Ben worked on it from scratch and I LOVE IT! I hope you do too. If you’re reading this post on a rss reader, jump out of there for a second will you? 🙂

Back to photos of home… In the first one, that’s the Singapore Flyer and below it the Helix bridge. Do not like that bridge one bit, it is butt ugly and cold. The next two photos are of the Art Science Museum and well, I don’t know how I feel about the way it looks. New buildings here tend to bear resemblances to spaceships or something that would belong in an alien world.

This is the very last photo I took before I left New York.

.

But that’s signing off on a blah note right, cos what’s Hair Kuwayama gots to do with anything? So how about this instead!

.

Better? We should have stood closer to the window but I fink there were people working behind that reflective glass. Heehee. Now back to daily photos of life in Singapore.

We took the F train out to Coney Island on our last day. It was freezing cold and I was in slippers because my only pair of sneakers were soaked through from walking in the rain the night before, I love being me! So exploring was quite abrupt, I couldn’t wait to run back to the subway station. The subway stops leading to Coney Island have nice names tho, like Avenue X! We went back to the apartment for one last nap, sulked packed a little more and went to David Chang’s Momofuku Ssäm Bar for dinner.

We've got a city to love

Ahh we’re nearly to the end of sharing photos from New York. Here is sadly, a bunch of double exposures. Completely unintentional and was quite a heart ache to hold the contact print in my hands. I, very stupidly, did not take note that when I bought a 3-roll pack of film from Walgreens… each roll has only 24 exposures instead of the usual 36 I’m used to shooting with. So when I reached the end of 24 exposures, I look at my film count and go like “eh?”, thinking the film got stuck or something. I rewind a little bit and shoot again. I believe I did this for 2 rolls of film, yay go me!

These photos being quite confusing, I’m gonna try and caption both images although I know I can’t for some.

.
Artists & Fleas in Williamsburg and in the background, I think it was a photo taken at the Brooklyn Bridge Park waterfront.

.
The very nice wall outside Artists & Fleas and E 1st street in Manhattan… pretty sure that is of our daily route from the apartment to the subway.

.
An epic piece of street art somewhere in Williamsburg, along Wythe Ave towards The Gutter. And then that’s Ben in the background, sitting on some furniture being sold at the Brooklyn Flea Market in Fort Greene.

.
The wall next to Beacon’s Closet, if I remember correctly. And those rocks were taken at the East River State Park, after stuffing our faces at Smorgasburg.

.
Bookmarc at Bleecker St and a shiny gold building on 5th Ave.

.
5th Ave Apple store and no clue what the second image is!

.
Aha! These are delicious mini DuMont burgers at Smorgasburg and the Coney Island Beach Shop front.

.
The Wonder Wheel in Coney Island and someone’s dog in the faint background.

.
Walking along the eerily quiet Coney Island and in the background, that’s looking at Manhattan from the East River State Park in Williamsburg.

Ahhh what is a trip to New York without walking the Brooklyn Bridge and eating pizza at Grimaldi’s? This time we wandered towards the Brooklyn Bridge Park after. Once the cold got to us, we took the subway to Williamsburg for Mast Brothers (gifts!), Beacon’s Closet (uhh found nothing), a bowling session at The Gutter (what a place! loved it) and a movie + dinner at Nitehawk Cinema (great experience altho the food could be better).
