Hey guys! I’ve got three new hanging mobiles in my shop. I’m excited for these new babies! They’ve been rough sketches in my notebook for months and now they are real and ready to find new homes. To take the hanging mobiles up a notch just a little, I used sterling silver metal chains instead of my usual hemp rope. The chains are oxidized (by me) so none of that too-shiny silver look. HEYYY!!! I’ve just updated my etsy shop with these new babies. I used a different type of paper this time, painted some twigs to go in a different direction, played around with ‘draping’ instead of the usual ‘drops’. I really love a few of these so I hope they end up in good hands!
Also, my twigs were on some of these cool blogs (many months ago!) – For Me, For You, Color Collective, dee9:14. Thank you ladies, I was quietly very thrilled!
I had some pictures involving these twigs and leaves on the blog before, those were taken during the making process. I’ve finally finished them and they’re now available in my etsy store.
The idea behind it was initially to create a decorative piece that would have movement to it. I wish I could for the life of me remember the exact point in which this idea was conceived though it definitely was a mish mash of several things I was inspired back in November combined with the origami leaves I was already making. Essentially, they’re made out of real twigs, origami leaves, string, beads and some hemp. I kinda do really love them and felt a sense of achievement when I finally figured my way around executing the exact idea I grew in my head (I, for one, don’t always succeed in that area).

This isn’t quite a Christmas wishlist since I don’t ask for anything for Christmas. I have an aunt who gives terrible presents every year – the unneccesary address book, questionable useless black pouch, random key chain with a letter C? – so i never expect much where presents are concerned, but the food has to be good. Anyway i’m sharing some things i’ve had bookmarked, some favourites on etsy and so on. I’ve messed up my sleeping patterns again, i sleep at 4pm and up at 12am, so i haven’t gone out much less wore anything worth mentioning, i haven’t done anything exciting except play Guitar Hero (attempting medium mode right now). And i hate to go quiet here so here’s something till i have something better.

I’ve never had a Sunday like today. Most Sundays don’t even exist because before you know it it’s Monday. In between almost being lured to buy a $6.90 plastic cup (but for good reason, it had this magical rainbow mist ‘thing’ going on on the base of the cup) to wondering if investing in a good chef’s knife is paramount to having to tell an old salesman there’s no way i’m gonna pay $138 for a digital hot water flask (??!! what about it needs to be digital seriously, he’s got to be kidding me), i’m coming to terms with spending money on nice kitchenware instead of my wardrobe. There’s tonnes of other ‘adult’ things to come to terms with as well but i’m definitely not gonna load it off here.
So perhaps at some point this blog would house more home-related posts, i hope everyone will enjoy it all the same. This week’s pictures are a weird bunch, well they never actually flowed but this week’s really seems all over the place. Haha, you tell me.
