Feeling this on a Monday
A big bowl of pasta! Instead I had sucky sushi for dinner and tried to make it up to my stomach with an orange muffin… which turned out sucky too! Ugh!

This is Bollywood Veggies.
This is the Pinnacle @ Duxton.
This is Marina Barrage.
This was a snack at Rochor Beancurd.
This is one of the stalls taking part in Ramen Champion.
This is Jimmy Monkey cafe.
Been taking all my food pics on my iPhone and posting them on Instagram instead of using my camera. Still, posting these here makes more sense so that I can share the link back to the blog I got the recipe from.
This is kimchi fried rice and I used Jeana Sohn’s recipe. I bought the kimchi from the Isetan Scott supermarket at Shaw centre. Although I’ve seen my local Cold Storage carrying the same brand recently.
The next time I make this, I’m gonna try to get hold of this red pepper paste or gochujang that Jeana used. Think it would give the dish that extra kick. Also would try using pork instead of ham – a preference thing, I’ve noticed lately that ham leaves this icky dry texture in my mouth which I makes my hair stand. So weird!! I’ve never had that problem in the past.
Now, it’s the weekend, have a good one!
My brother worked with his chef, Bouk, at his old job. Sometime in May, Bouk opened his first restaurant, Hummerstons. My brother’s one of the two sou chefs there now. I’m a big fan of my brother and his food and love to show my support in any way I can. The food’s so good! And so are the desserts! This coming from a non-dessert person.
I took some photos on film which are below but there’s many more photos on Belly—my boyfriend’s and my newish tumblr for food.
1. The bar area
2. Interior
3. That’s the kitchen. And you see chef and owner Bouk in the front, my brother, Ben, at the back and on the right is the super talented pastry chef, Deborah. (She’s so young but produces such refined and sophisticated desserts. In awe of her talent!)
4. Poutine with Montreal sauce. So good, it’s a must!
5. Mmm, more Poutine
6. Ancho Chilli Cod
Hummerstons is located at Robertson Walk, get their opening hours & address on their Facebook. Also, Sarah did a wonderful post on them, chekkit. And if you plan to go, I highly recommend the prawn pavoratti, the burger, the pumpkin cheesecake and poutine with montreal sauce. I do daydream about the prawn pavoratti from time to time… mmmm.
I was just thinking to myself last night, how nice it is that people still come here, check out my photos and read what I have to share. In the past months, I’ve been adding new blogs to my feed and they are all these fantastic, inspiring people who seem to be doing so much and doing it so well too. Sometimes reading all that gets me down but at the same time, it picks me up?! I know it’s a me-problem. But I just wanted to say it’s nice to know you guys are still around, that’s all! And have a wonderful weekend guys!
This was all in March. Dinner at Peperoni’s, going to the driving range for the first time, breakfast at home, nocturnal nights at McD’s and Starbucks.
