Busy times for me, how is everyone?

Boy oh boy do I have a problem with my memory! It’s deteriorating. Fast. Age is catching up. And fast. So what I forgot about was to share Adeline’s Photographic Diary, this entry is on ink or tattoos. My small tattoos made it on there together with Liz and Diana’s massive sleeves! Was super stoked to be included. Plus Adeline’s recently banged out a new neat layout which was done by Katrina and well, short story short, I’m pretty much in love with how tight this blogging community is.
So from tattoos to food, here we go with food on film #2.

pan-fried salmon, kenyan green beans, zucchini & tomato & avocado salad

penne with pork sausage (minced up) & kenyan green beans, in a chicken broth sauce (I followed a recipe for the sauce but switched up the greens). It’s nice change from the usual tomato/cream base and Ben was very quick to say he liked it (yay for me)! If you’d like the recipe, I’d be happy to scan a copy.

breakfast of zucchini and avocado on wholemeal toast

clear-the-fridge-and-throw-it-all-in fried rice for lunch

I rarely snack on chocolate but the new packaging gave me a reason to put it in the basket. It’s boxy and nice to hold now.
How’s everyone’s weekend going? I’m desk-bound and working on more twigs, watching the new season of Project Runway and hopefully, eat some ice cream tomorrow.
How cute is this token to ride the train!

Hualumphong central railway station

Chinatown (always chaotic, everywhere in the world)

I really like the face of Gillette

What did you do today, or what are you gonna be doing today? Well it’s 11:17PM here so I can summarize my day in a few words: made.a.giant.pot.of.spaghetti.bolognese.sauce.
On our second last day in Bangkok, we ate too much for lunch at Greyhound Cafe. The cafe came highly recommended by Stephie with specific dishes to try, so we did just that.
With my greedy face on
Butter tastes weird in Bangkok, something I noticed when eating my rolls
I had this dish called Complicated Noodles, basically I had to put my meal together
A very powerful and spicy, erm, sauce. I couldn’t figure out for the life of me what was in it - parsley, garlic, lime?
This is the meat sauce which was urghhh-sooo-good
So this was how I ate it at first but really, I ended up using all ten fingers towards the end of the meal.
I don’t have photos of the other stuff we stuffed our faces with but I’ll list them down here if anyone wants to know. Chicken wings, clam and mussel soup, miso salmon, chinese plum float and the carbonara’s supposedly good too but we didn’t try that. And, Greyhound Cafe is on the first floor of Siam Centre.
On the last day, we killed some time by visiting the Bangkok Art and Culture Centre. It’s right in the shopping district so it’s a nice respite if you’ve had enough of malls.
I’m beginning to realise the documentation is a bit fragmented because some photos are shot on digital and some on film. So I’m opting to share them separately instead of mixing them up. I haven’t decided which works better.

We didn’t do much there, also because there wasn’t much for us to do. We walked a lot. Noticed how new modern buildings sprout out between slummy heavily-vandalized broken buildings. Saw a string of bright pink taxis coincidentally caught in a traffic jam at one point. Took long baths. Watched a lot of Fox News in the hotel?!? Quietly honestly, I was simply happy to wake up by myself, for myself and not by our cats.
In the last two photos, we were at a bar where the live band played serious heavy metal. Lamb of God, Iron Maiden. I’ve never seen a grown man shout so much and so loud before, it was something to remember.

Fatboy turns six today! I’ve been trying to get him to take a photobooth picture with me all day but nooo, he just won’t do it for me. And it’s almost nearing midnight, I’ve ran out of time. The older he gets, the more he refuses to let me photograph him. He will move right when I release the shutter, arggg! So well, these old polaroids will have to do.
I know it can be kinda gross when humans love their pets too much. But this cat of mine has been my companion through some of the toughest times.
I’M BACK! While I wait for my rolls of film to get developed, I’m gonna share the afternoon we spent at Siam Ocean World in the meantime. It’s probably one of the few highlights of the holiday. Nothing can quite compete with underwater life; they’re strange/beautiful creatures.
Those are giant sucker fishes by the way!

G’weekend guys!!

Caught Inception, late lunch at Oriole — beef cheek tagliatelle and a flat white for me. Headed to the Singapore Garden Festival and was disappointed that visitors couldn’t walk under canopies and alongside flowers, we could only go around exhibits trying to peek into the heart of it. Left and bought something I don’t need from Muji, like always. On our way out of the mall we figured the fireworks (NDP rehearsal) were gonna start anytime soon so we stuck around to catch it. Nice long bus ride home, we sat on a double decker so I spied on every house with a pool. Couldn’t sleep, watched some Letterman, still couldn’t sleep so I packed the work room, my section of it.
I don’t have photos of everything I mentioned, just some.
Howdy! I was supposed to blog about these new stickers on Monday. Monday became Wednesday and I’m behind on reading all your blogs as well, urgh! How is everyone?
About the stickers, I’m so in love with the illustrations and the clothes on the girls and their demeanour. I don’t think I’ve ever looked at an illustration and think “oh god, I want to be her”.
The illustrations are by Heeda but I came up with no leads on google. Wherever you are, Heeda, I love your girls and I’m gonna stick them onto every piece of mail I send out!
In other things, I finally collected my 35mm f1.8 lens from the post office today! I took these photos with my new lens.
Also I have a guest post up on my friend, Nabbycat’s blog! Do hop on over, I made a sweet little collage of melly-things and am hoping to lure interesting things out of people on the internet!
(I can’t believe it but I actually think I missed blogging, wow yipes.)
want: to go explore more parks

wish: I lived in the forest [maybe as a mushroom]

wish: I didn’t have to spend extra money on daily contact lenses, monthlys give me red eyes now, I don’t know why.

want: my big toe, second and third toe to heal. they are bruised blue and black. I dislike painting my toe nails but they’re very ugly naked right now.

want: my home to look like a cafe and have a pantry like a cafe but is a home?

wish: I had more discipline to finish my craft

If there’s anything I learnt about myself in the past year or two, is that I’ve become a lot more realistic, I like it simple, uncomplicated, edited, having patience helps and doing things at my own pace and ultimately getting things done is better than doing things at someone else’s pace and not getting things done. Do you share similar feelings too?
Babygirl turns 4 today! All in this household are July babies ‘cept for me so there will be more birthday shout-outs to come!
Howdy! Some photos of food before I gobbled it all down.

I was sick all of last week, I was coughing like an 80-year-old man so that kinda explains my disappearance, right? Anyway I’m better now and glad to be back with posting!
This is a Chinese and Japanese character that stands for Sun, pronounced as “ri”. I took this outside a Japanese kindergarten. So go outside and get some sun peeps, have a great weekend!
(Also I really can’t help but want to make you want a slow loris too!)
