My brother worked with his chef, Bouk, at his old job. Sometime in May, Bouk opened his first restaurant, Hummerstons. My brother’s one of the two sou chefs there now. I’m a big fan of my brother and his food and love to show my support in any way I can. The food’s so good! And so are the desserts! This coming from a non-dessert person.
I took some photos on film which are below but there’s many more photos on Belly—my boyfriend’s and my newish tumblr for food.

1. The bar area
2. Interior
3. That’s the kitchen. And you see chef and owner Bouk in the front, my brother, Ben, at the back and on the right is the super talented pastry chef, Deborah. (She’s so young but produces such refined and sophisticated desserts. In awe of her talent!)
4. Poutine with Montreal sauce. So good, it’s a must!
5. Mmm, more Poutine
6. Ancho Chilli Cod
Hummerstons is located at Robertson Walk, get their opening hours & address on their Facebook. Also, Sarah did a wonderful post on them, chekkit. And if you plan to go, I highly recommend the prawn pavoratti, the burger, the pumpkin cheesecake and poutine with montreal sauce. I do daydream about the prawn pavoratti from time to time… mmmm.

Please help in any way you can!
So far, I’ve supported the causes initiated by Hilda Grahnat and hello sandwich (who lives in Tokyo!!) and also donated to Singapore Red Cross via ibanking. Just today, they’ve have updated their website with more channels to donate – ibanking via OCBC/DBS/UOB, phone banking, however you prefer to do your banking!
There are a million other ways you can donate and do your bit to help. I ART U is keeping an updated page on artists/designers that are donating their proceeds towards relief efforts. Emi is selling her books and magazines on Facebook to raise funds (for local peeps hey!). Let’s do what we can!

I know the picture’s a little small to see the details so do click on it to see the larger version!
I’m still a tad high from the spontaneous energy a bunch of us had while working on this mini collaboration. It spanned two days? We tweeted, we decided, we did it. Basically four of us, Chups, Sel, Ser and myself (we were schoolmates back in design school) got wind of Crafty 2010 happening in October. We want to go but whined about the ticket prices for a bit. The super people behind the conference held a short “game day” to obtain discount codes so we thought, “let’s take advantage of that”! The task was to do whatever using the words ‘crafty’.
So yeah, each of us took an alphabet (some of us two) and put our own spin on it. No discussions of the direction we were each going for and I don’t know, somehow, I guess we all think differently no matter how similar we might be? WHICH IS AWESOME!
I could ramble on forever, it was just so fun altho a little frantic because I do things so slowly! Anyway do check out the Crafty 2010 website, you like-minded folks. I’m personally very stoked that something like this is gonna happen.
{Chups made C, Ser made R, Sel made A & F, I made T & Y}
