Bangkok #1

We didn’t do much there, also because there wasn’t much for us to do. We walked a lot. Noticed how new modern buildings sprout out between slummy heavily-vandalized broken buildings. Saw a string of bright pink taxis coincidentally caught in a traffic jam at one point. Took long baths. Watched a lot of Fox News in the hotel?!? Quietly honestly, I was simply happy to wake up by myself, for myself and not by our cats.

In the last two photos, we were at a bar where the live band played serious heavy metal. Lamb of God, Iron Maiden. I’ve never seen a grown man shout so much and so loud before, it was something to remember.

Nice pics! And yum to the food! To me, Bangkok is all about the food (and shopping of course). Haha, I’m shamelessly shallow :p

Looked like you had a very relaxing getaway! What’s that in the photo beneath yours? A parade with school kids, or something?

is that wan ton noodles soup? tasty?

i chose the cheaper dishes at PS cafe: house salad. not inclined to try the other dishes as i wasn’t hungry then. the salad’s decent but really nothing i couldn’t do myself. lots of tempting desserts but nothing to shout about. the sticky pudding at Oriole was so much better.

[z:six]: I can’t figure out what that was too! There was the girl – all made up – sitting on the back of the truck. Then there was a whole throng of schoolkids singing and step-dancing. They walked for a really really long time, most of them were sweating like mad. I believe it’s religious but I still couldn’t make out what it was for. Maybe a procession?

tom tuttle: IT WAS SO TASTY! I get you don’t have a good impression of PS Cafe :)

emiry: That’s what he said about himself too!

cass: check your email, I emailed you!
