World Cup season has begun! The opening match between South Africa and Mexico ended awhile ago, ended in a draw. If you’re watching the games too, who are you supporting this 2010? I’m rooting for Spain!
Well, I’d be a terrible Dane if I didn’t support us! So I do, of course, even though we’ve played terribly over the last year. I’m surprised we even qualified!
Other than that, I’m going to wait and see, I haven’t really watched any of the games prior to the big event, so have no idea who’s playing how! Last World Cup I really wanted Germany to win, though. We’ll see!
young: hahaha yes you would be! i’ve always wondered what it’s like for your country to be in the world cup. is copenhagen going crazy? I haven’t seen the pre-world-cup friendlies either plus so many good players are out due to injury. I’m excited nonetheless! We’ll see!
the world cup has always been the one sporting event i always watch. i guess because in mexican culture soccer is the main sport. i always root for mexico deep down, but i know they never EVER win, so i always end up rooting for other countries. the time italy won i was rooting for them the whole time.
We only really go crazy if we do well, haha! But most bars fill up with people to watch the games and if we do well we have big events where they put up huge screens around town where heaps of people gather to support – it’s quite fun! When we won the Euros in ’92 we went pretty crazy, though! I remember going around my hometown with my parents and everyone was just happy and celebrating with each other in the streets – it was a pretty good time and I’m happy I got to experience it!
I hope I get time to watch the games! I’m working during the day games, and I don’t have a TV at home, heh.
What a cute shot with the relaxed feet in it! I haven’t been able to watch any of the games yet but I need to! Soccer players are sooooooooo sexy ; ) muahahaha
I love it that there’s still a Christmas tree in your apartment!
I’m rooting for Spain too. I don’t have a very strategic reason why but mostly because of heritage and, well, I think it’s time I find out how well Fernando really plays. After all, people always ask if I’m related to him. To us Torres’!
erika: I know how that’s like, by default I always support England because I only watch the English Premier League my whole life but they always suck at bigger competitions.
yen: I’m just so lazy to take it down! But I finally did cos we had to make room for a new fan. Too hot in the living room.
young: I hope you find the time too!
allison: heheheh oh yes they are!!
niki: you definitely need to watch Fernando play this time! and maybe you just might spot some familiar Torres’ traits.
cookie cutter: I’m more of the ‘mister’ in my relationship when it comes to soccer haha.
Ha ha…. I learned about your blog today. It is great!! So happy to see that you supported Spain. It is our first World Cup, but we hope it won’t be the last!!
