Five days later
This is a pretty old photo, taken about two months ago. We haven’t gone kite-flying in a while now but the park, the park has converted Ben & I to become serial park people, haha! Ask me one year ago and I’ll probably not join you at the park. Anyway, I had this random thought earlier – what if someone got killed at the park? Would I dare go there again? Can’t say why it came to mind, could be all the Criminal Minds I’ve been watching. And you don’t even have to answer it… I’m just putting it out there.

haha Melly you are so random! I love it!
That is such a cool kite and you are super funny and cute.
Well, I don’t think I would go to park again unless it was early in the day and nice and bright out. Would you still go? I never watch crime shows because they give me bad dreams, how can you stand them??
Melly, you freak me out with this question but this is why i love you. note to self: never watch criminal minds. i live across (and diagonally) from 4 city parks. eeek!
I adore this photo!
Hahah such a random question, Melly!
But…true story – when I was at uni, we had to walk through a park to get to the campus (which was a converted asylum), and one day, a friend of mine who lived in a flat overlooking that park, came into class. The cops had been round at her place the night before asking if they witnessed anything, because a guy had been found MURDERED in the park that night!
You can imagine how freaked out we were walking through the park that day, eventually we did get used to it, but it was still really scary leaving uni after dark.
Great photo!
i’ve been addicted to CSI and NCIS for a few months now and strangely i see murderers everywhere, its always the quiet ones that you never suspect …. arrrrrrrrrrrr
I know what you mean…I used to visit this public park when I lived in Italy and then someone exposed himself to my roommate there. I didn’t feel the same about going back after that…it was so odd that I’d felt so safe there and then it was all different. Luckily nobody’s been killed in your park though:)
The kite is gorgeous.
Oh Melly you are so random! So am I actually so I don’t blame you for having such thought although it is quite freaky. I don’t think I could go by myself but maybe with friend when it’s nice and sunny out.
do you watch bones? it’s more visual but honestly quite ticklish when i see the skeletons and stuff. it’s the supressed chemistry between the guy (buffy’s ex — swoon — broad shoulders are my downfall) and the lady (too smart for the angmo ah beng) that makes it a guilty pleasure to watch.
some girl did get killed in the park near my ma’s. i hadn’t moved to the place then. she was sexually assaulted and was due to marry; was christian. i’d likely still go alone but at decent timings. it’s easy for me to say cos i had no strings attached to the place.
geez, if i learned that someone died/was murdered in our house, i would want to move out ASAP (regardless of our lease). if someone died/was murdered in my favorite park, i would never ever go back. anyhoo, i’m glad neither unfortunate incident has happened.
great photo — you look like you’re about to take off!!
that photo is awesome. and that kite? wow, i love it.
i think of scary thoughts all the time like that… too much law & order
