First time

Today, I had my first time at buying loose stalks of basil, strangely enough. Flowers included. It never crossed my mind that basil would be sold at the wet market, I don’t know why, but yeah I never thought so. The only form of basil I knew came in a plastic container sold at Cold Storage. So excuse me if I sound super silly but this is awesome!

I don’t think I’ve ever bought loose stalks of basil too – they look so pretty! And yes, the only form of basil I know too comes in a plastic container from cold storage! :o ) Gonna venture into the Bedok wet market some time this week, I think!

I grow three varieties of basil in my herb garden: lemon basil, which tastes of lemon, green basil and a purple variety. They are all wonderful to use in cooking depending on the dish and ingredients!

You’re so lucky to get basil flowers. Try them sprinkled on salads!

oh man, fresh herbs make such a difference in home cooking! I really need to get on planting an herb garden. herbs are in most cases types of weeds so they’re really easy to grow as long as you have space.

hey melly, not sure if growing your own would be easy, but we grow a few basil plants in M’s backyard… i suppose you could do it in a pot too! then you get fresh basil :) maybe grow a couple so you are never short of lots of basil! hehe

Your blog’s officially one of the nicest things I’ve seen in the blogosphere. It’s full of charm, wholesome sylishness. I’m “I May Be Seymour Glass” on Flickr and I feel we share the same school of aesthetics.
