Thanks to patlaw, i won myself a preview to Uniqlo’s opening at Ion Orchard on Wednesday!

I got to meet the people behind some of the blogs i read!

Sarah + Jo of Wottoncool and Nicole of Cherry Magazine

xwen of Fash-Eccentric!

And got to see familiar faces,

Jayden + Pat [Pic credit: Pat]

Dottie of Fashion Nation

It was a little tough picking out stuff for myself, i have to admit, i’m not much of a ‘basics’ person. My eye kept going to this magenta+blue flannel shirt but somehow it never ended up in my basket so alas, it wasn’t meant to be!

This is what i ended up buying with the $100 gift voucher (how generous Uniqlo!); it all came together nicely to make an outfit. So happy to finally own a handy brolly - you have no idea - it’s one of those things i can’t bring myself to buy.

{The tote, scarf and hanky was part of the goodie bag}

what a surprise, you incidentally took a candid photo of my friend (the guy beside xwen). the expression on his face!!! priceless.

the brolly you got from uniqlo is rad, love the colour! :)

DAMN, YOU SINGAPOREANS ARE SO AWESOME!

  5. haz on August 7th, 2009

loving the brolly and tote bag! they ought to sell them (the tote bag, i mean) sometime ;)

  6. Jessica on August 7th, 2009

everything you bought is blue! (: and the goodie bag stuff had hints of red!

  7. ai on August 7th, 2009

you guys look so young and cute.

i’m glad to see you found some things you liked enough there. umbrellas are so so crucial! i love simple and basic, but uniqlo just doesn’t do it for me… did you get the feeling it’ll do well in your country?

  8. [z:six] on August 7th, 2009

Love the tote and hanky! And apparently your cat agrees too :P

That seems like such an awesome day/event!

sheryo: haha! i was wondering for a while if i should put the photo up cos if i were him, i’d be not very pleased lol. But it was my only photo of xwen for the day!

ai: This is the second store that opened here and what i heard about the first store (and it isn’t situated in the city) was that throngs and throngs of people bought like crazy when it first opened. Not sure about now tho. I think it’ll do well here, their prices are affordable compared to say Gap? But some friends say the selection they bring in here is disappointing. They raved about the ones in Tokyo! Hahaha. I went to the store in NYC and i loved it tho, altho i didn’t buy much. The store itself was really nice to wander about in.

jo: It was my only shot of her :( The day was wayyy to weird to go around snapping in people’s faces. It was very nice to meet you! You’re taller than i imagined!! I wasn’t mentally prepped on meeting anyone so i didn’t have the best things to say.

This looks like such a fun day. You must’ve had a wicked awesome time!

I adore the photograph of you and Jayden. It’s so interesting how the setting is so blurry behind you but you guys are crystal clear. It’s like everything’s moving faster behind you.

    Great photos!

you didn’t want to come over to visit! :(

are you like in a blue phase? you bought everything blue! and you were wearing blue cardi. lol
i only managed to buy a superman tee for my nephew!

haha, i also can’t bring myself to buy brollies.

  16. Sarah on August 7th, 2009

Ooooo $100 voucher?! Lucky girl! Oh and I really need a brollie now that you remind me… don’t we all in this country?! hehe. Nice choice of COLOR!

  17. Pat Law on August 8th, 2009

Damn why did I miss out on the brollies! I didn’t see them! Glad you had fun mate. And hey, would Fatboy like to meet Rebel?

pat: Fatboy’s not a friendly cat tho! He’d hide under the bed if there’s a dog around. I tried it once. He likes humans more than four-legged friends :(

  22. ondressingup on August 15th, 2009

What a score! Lucky lucky you. I know what you mean about not being much of a “basics” person. But despite that, I always spend so much time at Uniqlo.
