B-b-b-buntings

Posted in Art/Design, Dressing Up. on Thursday, June 25th, 2009 by Melly Tags: bunting, camp comfort, how i'd wear it series
Jun 25

I have those two lines hanging above our bed right now, in place of this poster that keeps falling off - no amount of blue tack keeps it staying put! And i can’t frame+hang it because our landlord wouldn’t be pleased with holes in his walls (boring~) but that’s okay i’ve come to terms with it now.

Anyway don’t you think it looks like a tribal queen’s collarpiece? Everytime i take a good look at it, i have the urge to use crayons to draw in some diamond-jewels, a great golden headpiece and i suppose a face to join it all up!

The whole point of this post is actually to ask if anyone would want one? I overestimated and made way too many triangles so now i have two extra strings of bunting. It’s nothing much really to say “hey giveaway!” but it’s a little too much bunting for my tiny home. So if you’d like one, leave me your email and i’ll send one over - wherever you are!

Also, Roberta Jane of Camp Comfort asked a wonderful bunch of bloggers to participate in her How I’d Wear It series, revolving around a cute pair of Topshop denim bottoms. My outfit is up on her blog today so do check it out! It was real fun, now i know why Polyvore exists.

    Hey Smeowly Meowly,
Very cute! Have you tried wearing them around your neck?
We live in a rental with a no-nails-in-walls policy as well. It sucks. But we have discovered the Command Hooks range by the clever people at 3M. With a variety of stick-on hooks in different sizes for things of various weight. “Holds on strongly” and “Comes off cleanly” is what it says on the package. We’ve only tried the smaller ones but they do really not leave a mark when removed. Will let you know if I have to sweep up broken glass when we finally put our framed pictures up with the bigger hooks. Hee. x

Woah.. those are a bunch of really tiny buntings… I think the smaller the buntings the harder to make. I DON’T HAVE YOUR PATIENCE. hahahaha

These are so pretty, reminds me of fiestas (feasts) from my Mum’s hometown! Are you a fan of She & Him? Were you able to see them perform? I really like their songs a lot!

  15. Tara Diane on June 26th, 2009

aww, how fun :). I love cute and simple little splashes of color like that.

  16. ondressingup on June 26th, 2009

Oh dear! It is gorgeous. I wonder if you have any left? If you have any left my email is ondressingup@gmail.com You did so well. As for hanging pictures without leaving holes - the 3M picture hook range uses adhesive stickers. They’re life savers.

  17. plastiqgurl on June 26th, 2009

polyvore is fun, i like :)
i can’t wait to buy/rent a place with the boyfriend. how much are you paying for rental? (if you don’t mind me asking)

  18. Diane on June 26th, 2009

I want one! If it’s not too late. If it is, I’d like to make some for myself. What kind of paper did you use for the triangles? They’re so colorful and cheery; I love them.

Also, I love your “How I’d Wear It” outfit! It’s perfect - the bow, polka dot blouse, sandals, watch, everything! You’ve got splendid taste and are a brilliant stylist! And I’m not just sayin’.

Y: I took one afternoon to colour + cut the triangles and one evening to string them altogether :D i wish my cat was friendly… there’s no way i could put a bunting collar on him. i used to have to wrestle with him just to get his collar on (for a period of time, he had the habit of dropping his collars every time he went out). he’s a feisty one!

elle: oh i would DIE to see She&Him perform but i doubt they’d ever come to Singapore.

ondressingup: i use them 3M stickers for the smaller frames but i don’t trust it enough to hang up a large frame, especially one that’s hanging above our heads when sleeping!!
