Ole ole ole Coldplay
I’m awfully tired but i know this has to go up before i sleep away the happy buzz the show left me. Three years back, i went to see them and they ranked #1 as favourite concert ever since then. Tonight, they topped themselves! I could do a whole essay on what they did right but in short, they looked like they were having such a good time playing, being this band and that’s all they needed to do.

I felt i went to this huge party and had so much fun. All these little things they did, Chris Martin was funny, videography was hands-down impressive, at one point so many people were standing on their chairs dancing, Chris Martin made us do the mexican wave with our cellphones… I forget some now but i just didn’t want the party to end. And if you care enough to know what i wore, this is what. Because after tonight, my prior excitement to my Life in Technicolour attempt at dressing up just amounted to nothing!

Haa i know, the masks, just had to do them. That’s my boyfriend, Ben, who kindly accompanied me in this shot!

wow, your boyfriend looks like Chris Martin!
haha, jk. You guys are so cute together!!
I love Coldplay. i saw them with Eisley.
Your pic is awesome! If I ever get married I think I want my wedding invitations to look like that.
Also, that looks and sounds like a great concert.
wat! i’m jealous
OMG wow. so this is your happier writing site!
hello melly! you went for coldplay too! i got damn crappy seats all the way at the back. but it was the best concert of my life. like, hands down no doubt about it.
the most !!!!!!! part of the night for me was when they went off the stage for awhile (not the mexican handphone wave part) then the whole stadium just started singing the “ohhhh ohhh ohhhhhh ohhhh” from viva la vida without anyone really initiating anything.
i stood at the back of the stadium and just.. took it all in.
and got goosebumps, of course!
oh oh! and i really liked how he asked quite a few times “everybody ok?”
the look of the people, and Chris himself, on that last photo: pure bliss! a friend of mine also went and he couldn’t stop ranting about it. I’m jealous! :p
LOL you and your boyfriend are so cute!!
I had so much fun too.
It was like this big karaoke party except, oh, the band is actually singing in front of you.
And Chris Martin is such a hilarious performer. He’s definitely gotten better over the years.
I was mildly jealous that I didn’t get to bounce the big yellow balls and that the confetti didn’t fall on me.
Looks like you had so much fun!! I’ve never been to a concert that big and get uncomfortable in such large crowds. The biggest concert I’ve been to was Belle & Sebastian and that was big enough! Tons of people (but not nearly as many as Coldplay can draw!).
Your outfit is adorable – I love the colors. And that picture with your boyfriend and the masks…too cute!
Wow awesome pics! I like that top you’re wearing there
And oh yeah
I err gave you this tag/award thing hahaha I am so awkward – not used to these tag thingies.!
You lucky, lucky girl! You must have had amazing seats because the pictures you took are fantastic! I want to see them so badly… They’re one of my most favorite bands!
absolutely love the picture of you and your boyfriend!
The photo of you and your boyfriend is totally brilliant. I LOVE IT.
ahh, crap. i should have gone! it could have been my 2nd coldplay concert man. sigh! anyway, woo, love the outfit!!!!
Diana: He said the same thing about himself, haha he wishes. I googled Eisley and they seem like a cool band! Bookmarked some of their youtube videos, will get to them later
The Clothes Horse: I did come across one wedding invite on one of those wonderful design blogs and the couple wore horse masks. I thought it was so brilliant! For shy couples who can’t smile for 100 photos!
may: They might come again if they have a new album out, i’m pretty positive. They like Singapore!
Rice: ahh, gots me!
18november: He was performing Lovers in Japan in that last photo, which explains the parasol. Chris Martin was jumping, flinging himself all over the stage!
yann: There, you said it best, big karaoke party. The crowd was amazing, weren’t we?
Diane: I’d kill to see Belle & Sebastian play. This concert was held at our indoor stadium and according to Chris Martin, they were playing to a 10,000 strong crowd! Whoopee! Well nothing compared to Glastonbury but despite the many many people, we sure as hell sang in unison like one. Oh how cheesy was that line!
y: My bad, it’s actually a dress! I felt sick at the thought of listing down my outfit details in a post about Coldplay. Haha. Thanks for the tag/award. Me will get to it :]
apricot tea. The next time they’re in your city, you have to get tickets!
sel: Heehee i like it too, it beats us smiling really. We don’t have many proper photos with smiley faces. Mostly my fault.
Lorna: Thanks!!
haz: The Killers will be in Australia end march to april! Closest to you would be Gold Coast. Ahhh, i would kill myself to see The Killers. Oh no wait, I would get killed when i see The Killers…
Awesome photos, you’ve really captured the energy! I regret not going when I had the chance haha next time…
NICE MASK LOVE THEM !!!
ahahhaha the killers? yeah, i heard! alot of bands are coming, just have to find time (&money&friends) to go with! and yes, gold coast is an hour away! maybe i could watch them for you. hahah
i love coldplay’s music!!!
my mom loves chris martin
Coldplay promised a smashing gig in Singapore and looked like they sure did rock the crowd hard. Agreed with Justine, the pictures captured the surging energy. Gave me the goosebumps!
oh you guys are so lucky! looks like so much fun and i bet they were amazing!
hahahaha… awesome photo lah!
I wanted to go for the concert but my bf said coldplay lost their emo-ness and their current songs are too happy for him. “damn gwyneth palthrow for making chris martin happy” hahahahaha.
Melly! You just bought that awesome bag off estatesale on etsy didn’t you!!!!!!!!! GRRRR!!!!
Awesome photos from the concert. And you guys are so cute together with the masks.
melly that last photo is so cute! you’re so lucky to have been able to watch the concert!!! i wanted to go so terribly but the project held me back:/ great photos might i add.
AHHH COLDPLAYY!! XDDD oh man that is soooo cool!! Can’t believe you went to watch… Sigh I feel like watching all sorts of concerts. Rachel Yamagata for one but exams coming up so… =((
I really really reallly like that last photo of you and your boy! X) So totally cool. Would you mind if I used it on my blog maybe to introduce your blog one day? =D Or like for a post on photos that I like? Thanks!!
(I’d totally kiss that mask if i could)
