Hi Gracie
Yesterday was one of the highlights of August for me. After many many years of wishful thinking, Death Cab for Cutie finally came to town to do a show! The show happened a little too quickly for me or perhaps it took me too long to fully realise they were in fact playing on the stage. My boyfriend managed to film them playing “I Will Follow You Into The Dark”, i wished i could share their last song for the night “Transatlanticsm” but my trusty camera ran out of memory, queh.
This is what i wore – vintage dress from ebay (sleeves altered shorter) and my bag was thrifted in nyc.

I’m not sure if you can make out two buttons at the empire waistline, it’s kinda cute having the buttons attached to the belt instead of simply sewn on.
Alright here is the video i mentioned earlier, be warned that there’s some screaming a few seconds into the video, so go soft on the volume first.

shall go watch e video now.. thanks for that!
oh crap, how did you even manage to grab hold of the tix?! they were sold out within hours man. i was just thinking of going. sigh. i think if radiohead were to come, it’ll be much worse…
anyway! cute dress
OMG .
i jsut realised you say hi to me with your subject header.
im awed again. *grin*
after looking at your dress. i’m in need of a pretty scalloped collar – i’m thinking how i can diy this and wear it over anything hahahah
i don’t know how you wear all these vintage dresses and don’t look like some old grandma! i’ve tried them so many times and want to wear them but i look like some witch from the 70s.
that collar is too cute.
Gorgeous dress! And DCFC is amazing!
Sarah: You put the collar into a whole different perspective for me, hahaha!!
gracie: so are you convinced to alter your sleeves!
haz: fastest fingers first the minute tickets went on sale, kudos to my boyfriend. well Radiohead, mann, it would be chaos. And would definitely have to get standing tickets if it’s at the indoor stadium. Which means having to go super early to queue which means being really really grumpy even before the show starts.
jo: Selina of Flying Saucer recently got a sailor collar which is really quite genius ain’t it? So this scallop collar is a grand idea too.
gilda: witch! lol, you’d be a witch with a dark red broomstick, black tulle skirt, rocking some black boots and oh can you throw on those vivienne westwood stockings??
Wendy: They are, the best lyricist in my opinion.
you look so cutee in that! you pulled that off really really well :]
best lyricist- agreed!
nice to bump into you that night heh
oh yah, i managed to video them playing transatlanticism!!!
ok my bf did. he said he’d do the videoing so i can enjoy the performance.
anyways! yeah! Transatlanticism LIVE!!! i can die happy now.
That dress looks so lovely. And the belt/buttoned waistline is a really nice detail. I think the collar is my favorite though.
Love the picture in your blog
mw & Jessica: thanks!!
ser: indeed nice, havent seen you in a long while. i have to see The Killers and Green Day before i can die happily. how about camera obscura?
The Clothes Horse: it almost feels like a bib at times!
The dress is just gorgeous, especially the collar. Looks great with the sandals aswell! I always feel that my favourite gigs go far too fast.
Shesdressingup: I’m always unsure about sandals but too many times my feet has suffered in pretty shoes so i compromise nowadays.
Thanks for putting up the excellent vid clip, Melly. Love the local crowd makin all that noise…who says sporeans can’t appreciate live performances…
Larie: You’re welcome, you enjoyed it yay! Props to my boyfriend for the video. And yeah the local crowd can be really good.
