I would kill for this! I’m lacking brown footwear and these would be the perfect pair to start with. Yes but $405 for shoes is something i have yet to learn how to do.

And this pair is just lovely to look at. Both pairs of sandals are by LD Tuttle, available at Creatures of Comfort.

Today’s Etsy find has left me stumped. I’m easily surprised but stumped, not often. Well IMOTIME from San Diego, is one amazing fella who makes a clock out of anything. Let’s go, i’m gonna stump you too.
First there’s the Scrabble clock,

and how about a take-out clock, i love take-out boxes

then ooo, a bag clock!

and i love this weighing maching clock cos it’s secretly a clock

how about a vintage radio clock

and a vintage rotary phone clock

so it might seem perfectly normal to have a tin of tea clock

aha! how about a clock on your toilet seat cover!

or on a connect four game

a viking helmet?

and lastly, my favourite one, Mr Potato Head

So this led to some Googling and seems like it’s relatively do-able to make my own clock out of anything and everything. One for the DIY books.

Last weekend we went to Ikea and i picked up these chrismassy lights (actual name is Glansa with two dots above the first ‘A’). I’m all about lights and lamps really. And so initially i had planned to display them in a coiled up wire-sque sorta manner, on my shelf, beside my books (it looked nice in my head of cos) but when i came home to execute it, kwa kwa kwa.
So this is what i came up with.

This is an old photo frame also from Ikea i had since i was living in my old house. And i’ve kept it till now cos i had the idea of doing a painting and using this frame to frame it up but didn’t.
So this frame had a default “painting” in it from Ikea, i didnt take pictures of it tho. What i did was just to coil up the lights and place them in the center.

When i put out the lights, it becomes this!
And the colours of the lights change all the time so it’s pretty to watch and the colours aren’t harsh gold or white or blue. If lights could be described as gentle, these would be it.

I’m really quite glad with how it turned out.

I woke up and checked Design*Sponge first thing this morning. And i am so pleased that Kirsten’s Suitcase Pet Bed won first place!

This very cute and very smart idea got my vote without a doubt. Also because i’m having some trouble with my cat who literally steals my computer chair when i take toilet breaks. To the point that i had no choice but to use a dining chair till i find a way to elevate his bed cos i think he doesn’t like being on the floor. So when i saw this, it just brought a biggg smile to my face!
I would love to be able to make my own version of Kirsten’s pet bed but the chances of me finding a vintage suitcase here for cheap is narrow. She is selling this actual bed on etsy for $100 (USD) or if you feel like putting one together, you can follow Kirsten’s instructions and have some fun!

Etsy and eBay are my favourite places to be online so no surprises that i bring you another interesting find from Etsy.
Replicca sells handmade garments in their own original designs and what i love about their pieces is the familiarity of vintage wear, in the fabrics used and some of the silhouettes.

Left to right (clockwise): The Blue Wonder, Blue and Red Plaid Babydoll, Lemonade Parade, All You Want I’m Not Listening in Yellow
I’ve been seeing alot of vintage ‘inspired’ clothes and most of them are disappointing. I reckon using a floral fabric does not equate to it being a vintage dress. What i love about vintage wear is the cut and curves of it. Well of cos alot of times, the dresses i get off eBay don’t fit me like second skin but after simple alterations, it hugs my body where it should. And this is what i find is lacking in alot of clothing these days. This one entry on decades and body types by the lovely Rhiannon of Liebemarlene Vintage taught me a little more on the different eras of vintage wear. I still get confused but i guess little by little, i’d get the hang of it.
